iDiscover, TrailWatch and Designing Hong Kong are inviting keen hikers, explorers, photographers, heritage enthusiasts and everyone in between to join the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail Challenge 2022, taking place from January 1st to February 6th 2022.

Connecting known routes, small paths and lost trails, the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail is a community-created walking route circumnavigating Hong Kong Island’s coastline. The 65-km-long trail is divided into 8 stages, from easy to moderate in difficulty, and has something for everyone to enjoy: from steep, remote mountain climbs to flat urban harbourside walks.
Last year, over 200 teams took part in our Coastal Trail Mapping Event to try out the trail while documenting their favourite places and stories along the way. Over 1,500 photos and stories were submitted, capturing the surprising and constantly changing views along the trail. The most compelling stories and eye-catching photographs have been filtered into 40 stops and published in our app and inspired an illustrated map of the trail, designed by local creative Carmen Ng.
THE 2022 CHALLENGE
We’re inviting everyone to walk the trail. Participants are encouraged to solve 35 clues and take photos along the way to win amazing prizes. People can take part in teams of 2-5 px, and walk stages of the trail at their own convenience using the Trailwatch App.
The event kick off on New Year’s Day and conclude with a prize-winning ceremony on Saturday, February 12th (location TBC).
TEAM PRIZES
Anyone can join with their own team at any time between January 1st and February 6th 2022, at their own convenience. Participants can register in any of the following 5 categories: families, friends, co-workers, hiking groups or students.
Teams can gather a total of 100 points: 1 for every kilometre of the 65-km-long trail and 1 for every one of the 35 clues solved (there are 35 clues in total). At the end of the race, great prizes will be awarded to the teams with the most points.
We have over HK$50K worth of team prizes from sustainable Hong Kong brands for winning teams, including tickets for Ocean Park, health screen packages at Gleneagles Hospital, Bamboa shopping vouchers and Lululemon hiking kits for every team member.
INDIVIDUAL PRIZES
Individual prizes will be awarded for the most captivating Instagram and Facebook photos that match the weekly themes. Prizes include a Saturday brunch at Mr & Mrs Fox, KIBO biodegradable eyewear, a framed illustration of Hong Kong, a Lululemon roller, a PLNTY Bird of Paradise plant in a recycled plastic design planter, and a HK$500 Pizza Express dining voucher.
PIT STOPS
We have selected 15 pit stops for participants to refuel on the way. Walkers can check in at our partner locations to enjoy a discounted drink or snack.

iDiscover, TrailWatch 及 Designing Hong Kong 現邀請各行山愛好者，攝影師，古蹟愛好者及公眾參與港島環島徑挑戰 2022。本活動將於1月1日至2月6日期間進行，歡迎約定好友共同參加挑戰。
港島環島徑是一個以社區為本的行山路線，路線將覆蓋港島海岸線不同的路段和小徑。65公里的旅程分為8個小段，難道由淺入深，適合新手或經驗人士。沿途將會遊走平坦的海旁、陡峭的山段會為你帶來新鮮、刺激、前所未有而有趣的體驗。
去年，超過200個隊伍參加了我們的「繪畫港島環島徑」活動。活動期間我們收集了超過1500份有關港島環島徑沿途所見所聞的相片或文章等作品。我們從中挑選了40個最動人的作品，邀請了本地插畫家Carmen將作品集結成一幅手繪地圖，並印刷了紙本地圖及上載至應用程式及網頁。
港島環島遊挑戰2022
今年，我們邀請所有人再次探索環島徑。參加者可以解開沿途35條問題的謎底，並拍下沿途的景色以贏取獎品。參加者能以2-5人組隊參加，並用Trailwatch應用程式記錄旅程。
主辦單位希望透過活動鼓勵更多市民透過步行去認識、了解和探索我們的城市。三個主辦單位的代表皆表示因應港島越來越多的海濱路段開放公眾，希望能吸引更多市民去親近和欣賞這個香港珍貴的自然資產，並希望透過民眾的參與及關注，將港島環島徑及其他將來的海濱步行徑與麥理浩徑及衛奕信徑等齊名，讓市民及遊客多一個選擇去探索香港。
活動會於2021年1月1日正式開始。我們亦暫訂於2022年２月12日舉行頒獎禮，詳情將稍後公佈。
獎項
所有人都可以於2022年1月1日至2月6日期間，隨時隨地組隊參與。組別分為５類：家庭、朋友、同事、行山伙伴及學生。
團隊比賽的總分為100分：每行走一公里為1分（合共65分），正確解答旅遊卡的每條問題亦可得到1分（合共35分）。比賽後，每個組別最高分的隊伍將獲得獎品。
是次活動得到多間可持續品牌贊助商所送贈的禮品，總值超過5萬元。禮品包括海洋公園門票、港怡醫院的檢查計劃套餐、Bamboa購物禮券、Lululemon行山用品等。
比賽亦設置個人獎項。每星期我們都會有不同的主題，參加者只需上載與主題相關的相片到社交媒體即有機會贏取獎品。禮品包括Mr&Mrs Fox早午餐禮券、KIBO可生物分解眼鏡、500元Pizza Express禮券等。
